Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center hosts international translation conference with Leibniz Institute of European History

The conference brings together leading academics to address important questions regarding translation from Arabic to German, exploring the translation of novels, children’s literature, films and scientific material. Topics will also cover methods of transmitting images and texts – in particular relating to heritage, poetry and prose – as well as the impact of history and culture on translation.

The event will bring together researchers and translators from the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Egypt, as well as Germany, Switzerland, Austria and the United States. It is an opportunity to discuss the translated works and to discover new publications, providing a platform for in-depth research on the different categories of translation. The conference will be held in Arabic, German and English.

The Abu Dhabi International Translation Conference was launched in 2012 to run alongside the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair.
